The only USAF aircraft designed solely for close air support, including attacking tanks, armored vehicles, and other ground targets, the A-10 Thunderbolt II — or "Warthog" — was introduced in 1977 and remains in service with a projected lifespan extending to 2028. Its Thunderbolt name is an homage to the P-47, an effective close air support aircraft during World War II.
This limited edition, 1/72 scale plastic kit replicating an A-10C features engraves panel lines, a glazed canopy, a well-equipped cockpit, signature twin turbofan engines, wing-mounted equipment, and two sets of authentic markings (Maryland and Michigan Air National Guard).
