Developed under the project name "Nightwatch," the E-4 is a command and military control aircraft of which only four have been manufactured. The 1974-introduced plane was specially modified from the Boeing 747-200B and is used as a mobile command post for high-ranking American officials including the President of the United States. In fact, when the President is on board, the aircraft is referred to as Air Force One. They remain in service with the 55th Wing stationed in Omaha, Nebraska.
A limited edition reproduction of an E-4B, this 1/200 scale, die cast model features its signature "United States of America" livery, simulated cockpit and cabin windows, realistic turbofan engine details, and extended landing gear. Measures approximately 11¾" long with a 14" wingspan.
