Designed to be the "Ultimate Interceptor," the F-106 Delta Dart was introduced in 1959 with the U.S. Air Force. It was the last dedicated American interceptor, serving in that role during the height of the Cold War. It was not retired until the 1980s with drone conversions used by NASA through 1998.
Made by Hobby Master, this 1/72 scale, die cast model is a reproduction of the first F-106 with a clear top canopy. This particular aircraft was converted to a drone in 1992 and shot down in 1994. This replica features engraved panel lines, a glazed opening canopy, a well-equipped cockpit (with a removable pilot figure and instrument panel), realistic weaponry, optional-position landing gear, authentic markings, and a display stand. Measures approximately 11¾" long with a 6½" wingspan.
