Designed to be the "Ultimate Interceptor," the F-106 Delta Dart was introduced in 1959 with the U.S. Air Force. It was the last dedicated American interceptor, serving in that role during the height of the Cold War. It was not retired until the 1980s with drone conversions used by NASA through 1998.
Made by Hobby Master, this 1/72 scale, die cast model is a reproduction of the F-106A that won the top Delta Dart prize in the 1980 William Tell Competition with the 194th Fighter Interceptor Squadron. It features signature red accents and tail artwork, engraved panel lines, a glazed opening canopy, a well-equipped cockpit (with a removable pilot figure), drop tanks, a detailed exhaust nozzle, optional-position landing gear, authentic markings, and a mid-flight display stand. Measures approximately 11¾" long with a 6¼" wingspan.
