The standard primary trainer for the RAF and RCAF during the immediate post-World War II years, the DHC Chipmunk was in service from 1946 to 1972. In addition to duty in Britain and Canada, however, the aircraft was active in the fleet of more than twenty other national air forces. Many of the 1,200+ manufactured remain airworthy to this day with more being restored every year.
This 1/72 scale, die cast model — a replica of a Chipmunk serving as an RAF trainer — features that aircraft's signature red accents, a rotating propeller, a glazed segmented canopy, a well-equipped tandem cockpit, fixed landing gear, authentic markings, and a mid-flight display stand. Measures approximately 4¼" with a 5¾" wingspan.
