The DHC-1 Chipmunk, manufactured by de Havilland, replaced the recognizable DH. 82 Tiger Moth as the primary trainer in numerous air forces in 1952, including the RAF and RCAF. It was not retired from service until 1972, though a number remain airworthy today with more being restored each year.
This limited edition, 1/72 scale, die cast model — a replica of a Chipmunk serving with the Royal Danish Air Force, sporting stylish orange accents — features realistic panel lines, a rotating propeller, a glazed canopy, a well-equipped cockpit, extended landing gear, authentic markings, and a stylish mid-flight presentation stand. Measures approximately 4¼" long with a 5¾" wingspan.
