A towering figure in the history of American aviation, the Douglas DC-3 revolutionized air transportation in the 1930s and 1940s. Designed as a commercial airliner, it proved particularly rugged and versatile, leading to a 10,000-unit production run of a variant known as the C-47 Skytrain, an aircraft that dropped more than 50,000 paratroopers on France during the Invasion of Normandy. Incredibly, though it has not been manufactured since 1950, a number of DC-3s are still in use throughout the world.
This 1/200 scale, die cast, Hobby Master replica of the DC-3 features engraved panel lines, free-spinning propellers, simulated cockpit and cabin windows, optional-position landing gear, rolling tires, authentic Canadian Pacific livery, and authentic markings. Arrives ready to display on the included presentation stand. Measures approximately 3¾" long with a 5¾" wingspan.
