A multi-role combat aircraft, the Grumman F-14 Tomcat was introduced with the U.S. Navy in 1974. It was the first of the teen-fighter series, developed using expertise gained from dogfights with Soviet MiGs during the Vietnam War. Though it remains in service in Iran, it was retired from active U.S. duty in 2006, replaced by the F/A-18E Super Hornet.
Made by Hobby Master, this 1/72 scale, die cast model — a stunning replica of an F-14A flying with the VF-41 "Black Aces" stationed on the USS Enterprise in 2001 — features engraved panel lines, a sliding canopy, a well-equipped cockpit (including panel instrumentation and two removable crew figures), full weapons complement, sweeping wings, detailed afterburning turbofans, optional-position landing gear, authentic markings, and a mid-flight display stand. Measures approximately 10½" long with a 10½" wingspan.
