Although the Spitfire is celebrated as England's savior during the Battle of Britain, it was the trusty Hawker Hurricane that inflicted most of the damage on the Luftwaffe. Indeed, the Hurricane destroyed more enemy aircraft than all of Britain's other defenses combined. Among the most celebrated pilots to fly the Hurricane was James "Ginger" Lacey, the second highest scoring British ace during the Battle of Britain (19 victories). He finished the war a quintuple ace, with 28 kills, and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Medal.
A stunning Hobby Master reproduction of Lacey's Mk. 1 as it appeared in September of 1940, this 1/48 scale, die cast model features that aircraft's signature camouflage paint scheme, engraved panel lines, a glazed canopy, a removable pilot figure, a rotating propeller, realistic Hispano cannons, optional-position landing gear, authentic markings, and a display stand. Measures approximately 8" long with a 10" wingspan.
