Nicknamed "Viper" by the pilots who flew it, the F-16 was one of the most successful aircraft designs of the Cold War, with innovations that included a frameless bubble canopy for better visibility, a side-mounted control stick for greater control while maneuvering, and a relaxed static stability/fly-by-wire flight control system for smoother flight at higher speeds. Still in service with the United States Air Force, the Fighting Falcon is a wildly successful fighter, with nearly 5,000 units manufactured, seeing duty in some 25 nations.
Sporting the new "Splinter" paint scheme, designed in 2016 to more accurately emulate enemy fighters, this 1/72 scale, Hobby Master, die cast model of an F-16C Block 25 features recessed panel lines, detailed exhaust ports, an opening canopy, a well-appointed cockpit (including panel instrumentation and a removable pilot figure), full weapons complement, authentic 57th Wing markings, optional-position landing gear, and a display stand. Measures approximately 9¾" long with a 4¼" wingspan.
