The KV series of heavy tanks, used by the Soviets throughout World War II, saw numerous variants manufactured for multiple purposes. In total, more than 5,000 units were produced, with designations between models of the era being somewhat murky. The tanks featured heavily in defense of Moscow during Germany's Operation Barbarossa.
