Receiving his training from the RAF after his enlistment in 1942, Ezer Weizman was stationed in India as a pilot during World War II. After the war, serving in Israel, he was part of the nation's first fighter mission in May of 1948, an era when the air force flew primarily Supermarine Spitfires. From 1958-1966, he was the commander of the Israeli Air Force, and, in 1993, he became the country's seventh president.
A Hobby Master re-creation of Weizman's Spitfire IXe as it appeared in the mid-1950s, this 1/48 scale, die cast model features engraved surface details, the signature black paint scheme, an opening canopy, a well-equipped cockpit (with a removable pilot figure), realistic machine guns, a rotating propeller, optional-position landing gear, authentic markings, and a metal display stand. Measures approximately 7¾" long with a 9¼" wingspan.
