The world's first supersonic trainer, the T-38 Talon — which is also the most-produced trainer in history, with more than 1,100 manufactured — was officially introduced in March of 1961. More than a half century after its debut, it remains operational with the U.S. military. NASA also operates 32 of these aircraft, serving as a jet-training platform for astronauts and as a chase plane.
Made by Hobby Master, this 1/72 scale, die cast model is a replica of a T-38A that served with NASA in the 1960s. It features a striking white NASA paint scheme and livery, engraved panel lines, a glazed opening canopy, a well-equipped cockpit (with removable crew figures), a detailed exhaust nozzle, optional-position landing gear, authentic markings, and a display stand. Measures approximately 7¾" long with a 4¼" wingspan.
