The first helicopter to feature a fenestron ("fan-in-fin") tail, the Westland Gazelle is a five-seat aircraft first introduced in 1973. Its primary function is scouting, though it does perform transport and light attack duties as well. The Gazelle has seen combat action around the world including in Syria, Rwanda, and for both sides during the Gulf War. It remains in service today.
This limited edition, 1/72 scale, die cast model — a replica of the chopper flying with the RAE in 1990 — features a glazed nose revealing a well-equipped cockpit, rotating propellers, a detailed fenestron, authentic markings, and a display stand. Measures approximately 6½" long with a 5¾" rotor-span.
