Our Background
HistoricAviation opened for business in Minnesota nearly 30 years ago as an extension of the Horne family’s love of aviation. Selling art prints at fly-ins beginning with the very first EAA event in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the company quickly expanded its product line and published its first catalog later in the 1970s. From that humble mail order beginning more than 20 years ago, the company has grown to be an international publisher and seller of thousands of aviation items including books, videos, art, models, kits, puzzles and much more. The company is now owned by Greg Herrick’s Sky Media LLC. Greg is well known in aviation circles for his extensive collection of Golden Age and other interesting aircraft. Greg’s planes have graced the covers of our catalogs since the Winter 1999 version and he himself is a passionate aviation enthusiast.

The Future is Bright!
In addition to the continued expansion of our product lines, we are working on new ways to make shopping with us an even easier and more enjoyable experience. First, of course, is this new Web site that includes a number of items not shown in the catalog. The Web site, because it can be updated daily, will frequently include new products before they are seen in the catalog. (So check here often!)

We are constantly working to improve our service to you, our customers. 2000 saw an exciting move to a new, larger facility here in Minnesota. The new facility allows us to handle your order more quickly and more efficiently than ever before. That move, combined with new order management software that we have just installed, means that most orders will be processed within a few hours of being received. Shipping your product the same day your order is a common occurrence at HistoricAviation!

We are also adding more phone operators and a new telephone system to take care of you when you order and to promptly answer any questions you have. We are here to take care of you now, and in the future too.

In short, HistoricAviation has been and will continue to be the #1 source for anyone interested in aviation. It has been a wonderful first three decades, and we expect the next three to be better still!
