This, the first 1/30 scale P-38, is a beauty! Made by Figarti, whose "toy soldier" scale military vehicles are tops in their field, this model of "Marge," the Lightning flown by Maj. Dick Bong (America's top World War II ace with 40 victories), sets a new standard. Made of polystone and metal with plastic detail parts, it features engraved panel lines with true-to-scale rivets; a detailed cockpit with full controls; intricate landing gear; rotating propellers with labeling so fine you'll need a magnifying glass to read it; and nose-mounted machine guns so detailed they include cooling holes in the barrels! It even comes complete with a hand painted, metal figure of Bong admiring his "Marge" (who later became his wife) nose art and white gloves to help you keep fingerprints off the spectacular metallic paint!
