This week, the first-ever 1/32 plastic SBD Dauntless was announced by Blue Box Toys. With its 1/32 scale metal version of the same plane, Hobby Master proved the Dauntless – with its superb performance at Midway and in other great sea battles of World War II – to be an exceptionally popular model for die cast collectors (the first paint scheme sold out in days; see item 98137 for the second scheme). Now, Blue Box Toys is betting that the same will be true for collectors of plastic models.

We think Blue Box is right. This model will be a real beauty that will include all the great features for which Blue Box is known, including a superbly detailed cockpit and a wonderfully weathered paint scheme - all for less than $50.
