Introduced in 1932, the P-26A was the first all-metal production fighter aircraft and the first pursuit monoplane accepted by the U.S. Army Air Corps while the Chinese Air Force Model 281 engaged in the first-ever aerial dogfights and kills between monoplane fighters in 1937.
