This first-ever model of its type will carry the markings of the plane flown by Lt. (JG) William T. Patton of VA-176 who, flying off the USS Intrepid in October, 1966, became one of only two U.S. Navy A-1 pilots to shoot down a MiG-17 during the Vietnam War.
