The A-1 Skyraider, a workhorse attack plane – affectionately known as the “SPAD” – that flew for the U.S. military in the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s will, thanks to premier manufacturer Hobby Master, soon be replicated in a high quality, 1/72 scale, die cast model!
This first-ever model of its type will carry the markings of the plane flown by Lt. (JG) William T. Patton of VA-176 who, flying off the USS Intrepid in October, 1966, became one of only two U.S. Navy A-1 pilots to shoot down a MiG-17 during the Vietnam War. The historical significance of the aircraft, combined with this model’s unique status as the first of its type, make this a die cast airplane no collector can afford to miss.
Shipping in February, this model is already proving to be a runaway hit, so
