The P-51 was designed as the NA-73 as a follow-up to the Curtiss P-40, and was later called "Mustang" by the British. Although not powered for high altitude success, the early P-51 excelled at low altitude and these first Mustangs were used in the ground attack and close air support roles. Plastic kit features recessed panel lines, realistic cockpit, and assorted weapons including bombs, wing guns and drop tanks. 56 pieces, 6¼" wingspan when complete.
