World Cruisers Metal Sign

World Cruisers Metal Sign

Stan Stokes. In a 175-day period in 1924, the U.S. Army Air Service completed the first successful circumnavigation of the globe by fixed-wing aircraft. Here, one of four converted Douglas DT-2 torpedo bombers on that flight lands in Alaska during an early portion of the journey. Hand distressed to create the look and feel of aged metal and paint, this 24-gauge steel sign measures 18"x 12" and includes mounting holes.
