A multirole combat aircraft, the Grumman F-14 Tomcat was introduced in the U.S. Navy in 1974. It was the first of the teen-fighter series, developed using expertise gained from dogfights with Soviet MiGs during the Vietnam War. Though it remains in service in Iran, it was retired from active U.S. duty in 2006, replaced by the F/A-18E Super Hornet.
Painted with a vibrant red and white tail in honor of the VF-111 "Sundowners," this 1/160 scale, die cast model replicates an F-14A nicknamed "Miss Molly" stationed aboard the USS Carl Vinson. It features colorful nose art, a well-equipped cockpit including panel instrumentation, full weapons complement, detailed afterburning turbofans, authentic markings, and a display stand. Measures approximately 4¾" long with a 3" wingspan.
