Part of the 4th Air Wing of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force and the National Aerobatic Demonstration Team, the 11th Squadron "The Blue Impulse" formed in 1960 and was originally named "Tenryu." First, acquiring six F-86 Sabres in 1982, they performed 545 airshows before they moved to the Matsushima Air Base to start flying the T-2. After 175 demonstrations, by 1996 the squadron changed to the Kawasaki T-4. Celebrating 20 years of flying the T-4, the aircraft received a special paint scheme in 2016.
This 1/72 scale, die cast model is a Hobby Master hand-painted replica of a Kawasaki T-4, as it appeared as "Blue Impulse" with the JASDF 4th AW, 11th Squadron, Matsushima AB in 2016, features engraved panel lines, an opening canopy with crew figures, optional-position landing gear, authentic pad-printed markings, and a display stand. 7" long.
